    At Better Backs, we offer personal training from both our chiropractic clinics in Mitcham and Richmond. Qualified, professional personal trainer Christine Prescott can work with you to create a personalised training plan that is tailored to your health and fitness goals. All training programs and fitness classes are carefully designed to take into account any pre-existing or current injuries, medical conditions, postural issues or neck pain or back pain

    If you require personal training as part of rehabilitation from an injury, condition or procedure, Christine can work with your chiropractor to create a safe and effective rehab training program to improve strength and flexibility in the affected areas.   

    Before starting any training, Christine will provide a thorough assessment in consultation with your chiropractor to determine your fitness levels and identify any particular areas of concern, while working to create the best treatment plan.  

    While we prefer to provide face-to-face personal training, especially for cases of rehabilitation or injury management, Christine can also provide online training. 

    Our chiropractic team may recommend personal training as part of a broader treatment program that may include chiro treatments, remedial massage, dry needling, orthotics or low back pain treatments.

  • What to expect in a group mat class

    Pilates - Better Backs Melbourne

    What you should bring to your classes

    Wear clothes that you can move comfortably in but not too loose. Pilates is practiced in bare feet or sox. Please bring a Mat to do your exercises on and a towel.

    What to expect in a Group Pilates Mat Class

    Focus is on the basics of alignment, breath and technique Pilates Mat work is a good place to begin to learn correct movement technique. Emphasis is on applying the Pilates principles through each exercise, to increase strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. Please bring a mat to lie on and a towel. Provided are Pilates Circles, foam Rollers, Spikey balls and Therabands which are used during the class.

    Each Group Pilates Class is approximately 1 hour in length.

  • Group Fitness Classes

    Work out with others and experience small Group Fitness Classes in the heart of Mitcham. Held outdoors at the rear of Mitcham Baptist Church (8-12 Simla St, Mitcham), we have classes for all fitness levels.

    All classes require you to bring your own mat, towel and water.

    HIIT is a 30 minutes High Intensity Interval training workout designed to improve cardio fitness and metabolism, build lean muscle and drop fat. This helps with burning more calories for hours after the workout.

    Tuesday 7:00pm-7:30am

    BOXING is a 60min strength, conditioning and cardio workout great for building endurance and toning your body. Must bring own glove inners to this class (boxing gloves and pads provided).

    Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm

    CIRCUIT is a 45 min Strength and conditioning class that moves around different stations and targets different muscle groups, presented in different formats each week.  This type of Class is great for overall body toning, suitable for all fitness levels and can be easily adapted to your fitness level.

    Wednesday 9:30am – 10:15am and Saturday 8:30am – 9:15am

  • Corporate/ Workplace Pilates

     

    Do you find it hard to find time to get to the gym, Pilates, yoga? Wouldn’t it be great if you could do it at your workplace?

    Well that is what this service is all about, Our Pilates instructor will come in and run workplace pilates.

    Our Pilates Instructor comes to your work or group to run a Pilates group class. Once off bookings are charged at $165 for a 1 hour session if within 20km of Mitcham, if outside this distance a traveling fee will also be added in. Term Corporate Fees $1350 for 10 weeks with same distance clauses.
